Well, Believe it on Not. Keanu is back! And boy is he on a rampage.
John Wick is the kind of film that throws you head long into a minefield of explosions and keeps you hopping like a super charged baby on a Popsicle rush. And if you are an action movie lover, quadruple that adrenaline rush!
Directed and Produced by 2 stunt coordinators of the past, this Reeve vehicle broods a bit in the beginning but launches into orbit midway and then explodes into smithereens post it. Reeve grieves a bit and then seeks revenge like a man possessed. He is a man who has lost everything - yep, the most dangerous kind. Add that to his past and he becomes the most potent recipe for a slaughter fest. Bang, Bang, Boom, Boom, Crunch, Crunch - the body count is mind boggling. Yet, it's so stylishly made and the action is so brilliantly choreographed that everything seems like a symphony. And dayum, is the humour wicked!
Reeve dives headlong into the role and is compelling all way through. The devilish excitement of watching him kill, keeps you gripped. The action sequences go from mad to insane, as Keanu goes about his revenge in an almost breathless fashion. Oh! why don't they make more action movies like this? And why don't they offer them to Keanu?
There is not much to talk about this movie. If you are an action freak, you cannot miss this. It's like the Hollywood version of "The Raid: Redemption". Ofcourse, not nearly as good, but extremely good by Hollywood Action Movie standards. If you are still wondering, where did this movie come from, in the midst of all the big budget stuff from the Nolans and the Finchers of the world? Well, it came out of nowhere... Kean U believe it!!!!
Rating: 6.5/10 : Eagerly awaiting a sequel or a prequel. Anything!
